While in NYC Joe bought tickets for us to go see the little mermaid! We actually ended up buying them day-of from a scalper on the streets in the times square! haha. It was such a relief when we got in. . . we were so nervous we had been had!
Picture from our seats. . . we were closer than the picture shows. We soo lucked out getting center midmezzanine seats! The show was so great, the "under water" scenes were really well done. I had to hold myself back from singing along with Ariel!

I had an absolute blast hanging out with Joe's family and their good family friends the Vail's in NYC. We had a great night beginning at Rosie O'Grady's, a fun Irish pub in Times Square.

East Coast Christmas

Joe and I had the best time in Connecticut for Christmas! The east coast is ABSOLUTELy charming during the holidays. . I loved it. I thought I would share photos from the trip. Thank-you Jim and Judy for a very memorable christmas!

Judy, Jaime and I took the subway to Canal street to go purse shopping and stopped to take a picture in beautiful Grand Central Station. Notice the Dunkin Donuts in hand. . . you cant go to the east coast without passing a dunking donuts, its impossible they are EVERYWHERE!

Canal Street fun. We had so much fun going on a wild goose hunt for good knock-off/possibly real coach purses. Jaime and Judy think I have a sixth sense for finding these hidden shops. The best memory? Following a small asian woman through an alley, down a block, over a block the basement of a chinese furniture store to go to the hidden purse shop.

Warriors Game

Joe's uncle had two tickets to a Warriors game this past Wednesday and asked us if were interested in going the game. . . um heck yes!! I had never been to a pro basketball game and had so much fun. It was so nice to get away from Stockton and the mayhem of school that this time of year brings. We so enjoyed the little getaway and feel energized to take on the last hectic week of school. Who knew getting your Master's would be so time consuming? ha. Speaking of which, this may be our last post for a while because we will be Westport, Connecticut for Christmas! I am so excited to enjoy the holiday on the east coast and am so looking forward to spending time with family while there. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Boys

So the other night I showed Joe this beautiful picture of flowers that I would love for the wedding. I wanted to get his opinion, because, well, they are. . . "pink". So I asked him..."what do you think about this?" To my surprise he said he liked it! I was shocked that he would go for the "pink", (or what I like to call "Cerise") so I probed further and asked him what exactly he liked. . . In TOTAL seriousness he repiled "the salt shakers!" Arghh! Gotta love him! (:

The Resort

So...Joe and I have decided to have our wedding at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa!!! This is such a special place for me because I grew up going there as a kid. I remember Sunday brunches after church and exploring the hotel with my big bro John. The day we found the tennis courts on the roof was the absolute coolest! Anyway, this is a picture of the grass lawn where the ceremony will be held (minus the fog and rain...hopefully!) Its hard to see in the picture but it the whole area overlooks the lake. Let me just say....We are so excited!!!! I will post details soon about Room blocks, lodging, etc, soon. :) If you want more, check out laresort.com

Mtn fires

This post is long overdue, however, I wanted to take a minute to show this picture of the fire in Running Springs. When I saw this picture I could have sworn it was fake, but it definately isnt. This was taken from the "downtown" of running springs looking back towards where my old house is. What a scary time it was for the mountain community and friends. I know a couple of people who lost their homes and my thoughts and prayers go out to them and their families. Joe and I hope to get involved in some type of clean up work over the holidays, we want to help in way we can. Joe is actually planning a fundraising event here in stockton for the fire victims of socal. He is calling it the "Volley Ball" ! Basically, it will be a "ball" for all current men's and women's volleyball players as well as all alums. He will be donating all of the proceeds to socal fire victims, particularly the mtn community if he can. He has such a big heart and is such a great man. I feel very lucky everyday.

Gold Country

A couple of weeks ago Joe and I decided to take a Sunday drive through gold country. It was B-e-a-utiful! We had been wanting to go and finally did. We hit up a country fair at a carmel apple and bought some FRESH honey (my fav!). Anyway, this was a scenic spot where we stopped to take a picture.

First-timers

We had a great time the other weekend taking my Maid of Honor (Katie) and her husband around San Fran. It was Kate's first time! We love San Fran and were so happy to be able to share it with them....Im feeling like they need another visit!

My Fiance thinks he's so funny. . .

I found this on another blog the other day and saved the pictures to my desk top because I just thought it was so outrageous. Well, someone (ahem) Joe found it on my computer, printed it off, and then placed it on my fridge for me to see when I came home! I think he likes what he read. haha.

We're Engaged!

Joe asked me to marry him on August 1st, 2007 in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was so sweet and very romantic. Joe had some nice germans take our picture then before I knew it he was down on one knee!
